On the page that I recently wrote about how the red pill idea is fundamentally flawed, Martian Bachelor had this to say.
This exposes one of the greatest problems with the red pill idea. For it to make sense, you must have seen at least one of the Matrix movies. Not everyone has seen them. Even if a man has seen them, he might not care about what is effectively a minor plot point to remember it when it gets talked about in the so called manosphere.
Over time more and more men are going to have no idea what the red pill is supposed to be about just like how Martian Bachelor had no idea. The last Matrix movie came out in 2003 and the only real substantial reference to the red pill is in the first movie which came out in 1999. Take a man who is 30 in 2020. The first Matrix movie came out when he was 9. He may never have seen it. That’s even more likely for a man who is 25 in 1990. The first Matrix movie only came out when he was 4.
This is why that over time, the whole “red pill” idea will slip into irrelevancy. For the younger men entering the MRM, the Matrix movies will be something they have never seen or have only a vague memory of. To them, anyone talking about the “red pill” will look like a bunch of out of touch old men who failed to do anything about the real problems that feminism has created. (In many ways, this will make the “red pills” similar to conspiracy theorists. This is no surprise since many, possibly most, of the “red pills” are conspiracy theorists.)
The Real Peterman said, “The whole ‘pill’ thing seems a little divisive to me. I’m a little tired of seeing people talk about which ‘pill’ so-and-so is taking. Why not take that time and effort to educate that person instead?” That’s a good question. The answer has to do with the fact that the current “leaders” of the MRM seem to be less interested in building a broad based movement of men to fight feminism and more interested in running a clique of keyboard jockeys that pretend that they are smarter than everyone else because they know the “truth”. Eventually, there will be men who build a MRM that will do what TRP suggests showing just how irrelevant the “red pill” idea really is.
