  1. it’s obviously a simple minded dichotomy for simple minded people…

then (just like the bigoted feminists) they have to do a bunch of mental gymnastics to make the system work–ie a father and husband must be 2/3rds alpha and 1/3rd beta to make the marriage work…I saw that crap on athol kay or some other nonsense PUA for married guys shyster site…

the real world is much more complex and nuanced…

  2. Dude, your blog sucks. Why dont you talk more about ways to fight feminism and how to get revenge on women. You are just as bad as the conspiracy theorists.

  3. I agree with you on criticizing that one idea in the manosphere, I have criticized it myself. Saying the Rothschilds were betas is ridiculous. However I don’t really understand your criticism of Roissy. I think he made a good point. I’ve seen a lot of feminism coming from beta males, angry as they are that alphas get all the action and they grow to associate alphas with “misogyny” and “patriarchy” and all that feminist propaganda. But I think it is ultimately not about alphaness or betaness. Feminism is the logical outcome of liberalism, these people dogmatically believe it just like the believe other parts of liberalism.

    • Alpha and beta males as defined by Roissy do not exist because they are logical contradictions. Thus, you can’t say that beta males are responsible for feminism since a beta male as defined by Roissy can’t exist.

    • However I don’t really understand your criticism of Roissy. I think he made a good point.

It’s a silly point because it takes a kernel of a truth , that there are many betas who support feminism, and tries to create the narrative of some insidious conspiracy plot. Conspiracies and blame are their only way of interpreting the world around them. It’s insane.

Sure there are betas who don’t get laid who voice support for feminism. But there are also alphas who get laid who voice support for feminism too. Then there are alphas who are against feminism. And finally there are betas who don’t get laid who claim to be against feminism (these supposedly anti feminist betas who don’t get laid are known as Roissyites or the manosphere).

There is no “alliance” of all betas with feminists or all alphas with feminists. The world isn’t that simplistically black and white.

      • Also I assume Brock must be a full fledged manospherian because no other type of human can think Roissy ever made a good point.

      • It’s a silly point because it takes a kernel of a truth , that there are many betas who support feminism, and tries to create the narrative of some insidious conspiracy plot.

He never maintained that there was a “conspiracy” or “plot,” behind anything. He also addressed the point of alphas supporting feminism, and why they would do that, in the introduction.

        • We’ll have to agree to disagree then, because to me it still reads like he’s saying betas as a group were plotting to dethrone alpha males by supporting feminism. Again, I think treating betas or alphas like some monolith in regards to feminism is very simplistic thinking. Some betas support feminism, some don’t, some alphas support it, some don’t.

That is, if you buy into the fiction of every man being easily categorized as a beta or alpha in the first place.

        • Again, I think treating betas or alphas like some monolith in regards to feminism is very simplistic thinking.

It’s actually worse than that because the roissy definitions of alpha and beta are a mess of logical contradictions that can’t exist in reality. There is no such thing as a beta (or an alpha) as defined by roissy, so betas as defined by roissy couldn’t have supported feminism because they don’t exist.

        • betas as a group were plotting to dethrone alpha males by supporting feminism.

You are reading stuff into it that is not there. He simply looked at the motivations of the men who support feminism, just as you might look into why mormons vote Republican or poor people vote Democrat. Does that mean that poor people are plotting as a monolith to vote Democrat? No.

Like most things, alphaness and betaness is a spectrum.

Genetics plays a very great role is political attitudes.

        • You are reading stuff into it that is not there.

He explicitly talks about “alliances” of beta males “enjoining” feminism in order to overthrow “entrenched alpha males.” How exactly am I reading stuff into his work that’s not there? The scenarios he’s describing are the very definition of plotting.

        • It’s actually worse than that because the roissy definitions of alpha and beta are a mess of logical contradictions that can’t exist in reality. There is no such thing as a beta (or an alpha) as defined by roissy, so betas as defined by roissy couldn’t have supported feminism because they don’t exist.

Yup, anything they consider good and flattering to their self-image is alpha and anything they personally consider bad is beta. That’s why an underemployed waiter and race blogger with no common sense like chuck ross from Gucci little piggy or an incoherent nut like Frost is an alpha but a black liberal President like Obama is a beta. This actually makes sense to them.

  4. Dude, documenting the cognitive dissonance of Roissy might take a lifetime, and would be utterly futile, tedious, and brain-melting. None of this is meant to be logical or make sense . Roissy uses the language of science and rationality and logic because these days even religions have to use the language of the current intellectual paradigm to sound credible. But it would be incredibly naive of anyone to think that Roissy has the slightest interest in logic or the law of non-contradiction.

In fact, the more illogical and mysterious he is, the more faith he probably generates in his followers. Once you get past the first jaw-dropping Roissy cognitive dissonance, your mind goes to sleep and you get deeper and deeper into the cult. It gets easier each time. Once you’ve committed yourself this way, the more the errors and insane, jaw-dropping illogicites pile up, the more you feel driven to defend your investment and the more your faith grows.

It’s well documented that people who believe in irrational things become more committed to their position the more evidence you show them that they are wrong. It’s a natural human reaction and unsurprising if you stop to think about it. So the situation is that the more you might show to a Roissyite the logical errors and mistakes of evidence that Roissy makes, the firmer and firmer his belief in the rightness of Roissy will be.

The best known example of this, and the one usually cited, though there are many, is that cult up in Michigan in the 50s I think it was, that believed the end of the world and the millenium would be ushered in if they prayed fervently for it, and when that didn’t happen, they interpreted it as evidence that their prayers delayed the desired event and they must harder (!). Some of my details are wrong – you can look it up easily – but that’s the gist of it and it’s a fascinating – and terrifying – demonstration of human irrationality.

Humans need myths. You cannot argue someone out of Roissy or Roosh. For them game is a myth that gives life meaning. In this respect most modern intellectuals are not different; the myth of technological progress and human and social perfectability is the myth that gives many modern intellectuals the meaning their lives otherwise lack, even though there is not the slightest bit of evidence that human beings can be perfected. Many simply could not bear life without this myth. Similarly many who turn to Roissy and Roosh could not bear life without their myth.

    • Jim, I agree with everything you said. Except for a few edge cases, I don’t expect to convert a follower of Roosh & Roissy ever. (In fact, many of them are trying to sell game books and other useless junk, so I can’t even know if they really believe what they’re saying or it’s all to scam people out of their money. I’m certain that at least several big names in the so called manosphere are outright lying so trying to convince them of anything would be a waste of time even if they aren’t insane.) That’s not why I document the insanity of the so called manosphere. My first concern is with the men who haven’t bought into the manosphere’s bullshit yet. They will still respond to logic and evidence. My second concern is how they’re are a lot of men in the (online) MRM who don’t buy into manosphere bullshit but “declare neutrality” when it comes to the manospherians. I provide documentation that shows that the manosphere isn’t just a different worldview, but a fraud. My third concern is opposing the dating advice industry which is much larger than Roissy and Roosh.

      • In that case I agree with you BP and you do good work. I should point out I am not the same the Jim as above who says your blog sucks.

        • I now appear as Mike, but I am the same JIm as above. That was an autofill error on my computer.

      • I also think the best service BP and Alek Novy do is to get manospherians to come out of the woodwork and defend their views. They’re so intellectually incoherent and dishonest that they not only confirm every negative thing anti-gamers say about them, but they actually surpass our criticisms at time.

I agree that none of it’s likely to sway a hardcore cult member but anyone who has only gone into the shallow end of the manosphere I’m sure would benefit.

        • I agree that none of it’s likely to sway a hardcore cult member but anyone who has only gone into the shallow end of the manosphere I’m sure would benefit.

This is why I spend so much time documenting what the so called manosphere says. My biggest problem isn’t the manospherians who hang off of roissy’s every word. It’s the people who don’t read roissy and roosh and the rest on a regular basis. They don’t know what’s going on and need to be shown it. The best argument against the so called manosphere is their own words, so I have to highlight them.

  5. Here’s another thing I always wonder. What’s the Roissysphere obsession with fat shaming? If they had all this game, why would they care about fat chicks so much? Wouldn’t they just be banging hotties and stealing them away with their superior game?Even if there is a scarcity of hot women because of increasing obesity rates, it shouldn’t matter because game makes it so that they can still monopolize the thin women that remain, right?

Roosh has started another trolling endeavor by designating this week Fat Shaming week:
    http://www.returnofkings.com/18782/fat-shaming-week

He also created a hashtag on twitter for it:

    https://twitter.com/search?q=fatshamingweek&src=tyah&f=realtime

Why are they so obsessed with trolling. Forney has also been on a trolling tear lately too on twitter.

    • I think there are two things going on. The Roissyites can’t get laid or their only option for getting laid are obese chicks. They’re pissed about that.

The other part is that the Roissyites themselves are fat if not obese. Just take a look at Fat Forney for evidence of this. As we know from pictures of people on the paleo diet, the paleo diet keeps people fat and probably makes the problem worse. Rather than do the hard work of actually losing weight, the Roissyites attack and blame fat women for the inability of their ideology to get them thin.

  6. What’s the Roissysphere obsession with shaming? Isn’t it obvious? Feeling supeior, revenge fantasies, etc. They even try and feel superior to other men – you think they won’d try their hardest to feel superior to women wherever they can? The key to understanding these people is that they suffer from a crippling inferiority complex the likes and strength of which you or I have rarely seen. Every thought and idea they have is meant to make themselves, somehow, feel superior to someone else, somewhere.

    • Jim thanks for answering. I get the reasons they shame in general and I agree with you totally. However I see they have a vehement hatred for fat women in particular that surpasses their hatred for their other targets and borders on psychotic. It really fascinates me.

If they were really banging all these hot women, why would they still be so fixated on fat women? I think they used to and often still do date fat women and their shame over it makes them obsessively abuse them.

      • Meanwhile our favorite rebel without a cause has also generated a shitload of useless attention for himself too: http://www.refnull.com/?http://www.mattforney.com/2013/10/11/how-i-became-the-most-hated-man-on-the-internet/ I’m sure if we searched, we’ll probably find a bunch of media pieces talking about this week’s shenanigans of “MRA Matt Forney” also. I don’t even get the point of all this. Especially since both of these morons use their real names.

        • I don’t even get the point of all this. Especially since both of these morons use their real names.

Remember that the so called manosphere is among other things an online marketing scam. What Roosh and Forney are doing is an attempt to sell more books. It’s based on the idea that any publicity is good publicity. In reality, this will not work and just open themselves to problems. Remember that Forney was begging for donations for his “legal defense fund” a while back. Sooner or later, he’s going to be panhandling for his legal defense fund again. What they’re doing is the online equivalent to going around punching people in the stomach. Eventually, they will run into someone they can’t take down or a posse will be formed to hunt them down because they pissed off the wrong person.

I suspect there’s also an aspect of “idle hands are the devil’s workshop”. Neither of them have jobs, so they have the time to start endless and pointless internet arguments.

Like you said, the biggest danger is that this crap gets associated with the MRM. What I think is happening here is that while manospherians like Forney and Roosh hate the MRM, they don’t leave the MRM alone because they want to be loosely associated with it. It’s not because they believe in the MRM. They’re using the MRM as a way to start internet fights to generate publicity. (A conspiracy theorist would say that this is a conspiracy to discredit the MRM and/or anti-feminism in general. They don’t do this because their ideology requires them to attack the MRM.)
